A Staircase Wall That Doubles as Storage and Seating
Casa Orlando, designed by STUDIO.D, reconfigures a 1960s top-floor apartment in Vernazzola, Genoa, to maximize light and space while framing views of the Ligurian Sea.

This oak piece integrates storage, seating, and a TV stand, while also functioning as a staircase leading to a skylight and the upper terrace. Above, a full wall of open shelving provides space for books and objects, making efficient use of vertical surfaces and keeping the footprint compact.

A navy-blue portal connects the living room to the kitchen and dining area, where pale blue cabinetry and a Carrara marble countertop reinterpret traditional Genovese finishes. Large windows and sliding glass doors extend natural light throughout the home, reinforcing the dialogue between interior and sea.
